Yin & Sound
In October 2026, Ingrid van Slooten from Ingyoga and I started an exciting new collaboration.
We organised our first Yin & Sound session for 15 people in the beautiful historic church De Engel in Huizen. During the session, we combined Yin Yoga with Sound Healing, and we were so happy to hear how much the participants enjoyed the experience!

What makes the combination of Yin Yoga and Sound Healing so valuable?:
Deeper relaxation of the muscles and connective tissue:
In Yin Yoga, you stay in passive poses for longer periods, often between 3 and 5 minutes, allowing you to gently work with the deeper connective tissues. The soft vibrations and resonances
of the singing bowls can help the body and mind relax even more deeply.
Vibrations throughout the body:
Since the human body is largely made up of water, sound vibrations can be experienced as gentle waves travelling through the body. The resonance of the singing bowls may help create
a sense of release and relaxation in areas where we hold physical tension.
Calming the mind:
While louder sounds and music can often draw our attention outward, the soft and subtle vibrations of singing bowls invite us to turn our awareness inward. This can make it
easier to step away from racing thoughts, become more present and settle into the quietness of the moment.
Energetic balance:
Singing bowls are also used in sound healing practices with the intention of supporting energetic balance and helping the body return to a greater sense of harmony and equilibrium.
Our next session is taking place in Huis van Eemnes, in Eemnes on November 14 at 15:00-17:00.
